We celebrated Robbie’s birthday a few weekends ago with a party in the garden with family and friends. B&O
PLAY (by Bang & Olufsen)loaned me a portable sound system to review called
the Beolit 12 and the party
was the perfect occasion to give it a try. I’m going to be really sad when I
have to return it as it really help set the mood at the party. And there are three lucky
people in Australian and New Zealand who will be winning one so read on to find
out how you can enter…
The sun was out for most of Sunday and we
could not have asked for a more perfect day. The party was quickly arranged
with pizzas and hot dogs and other nibbles. Music-wise we hadn’t had much time
to arrange which tracks to play but the portable sound system allowed our
guests to hook up their phones and play their own choices which was really fun.
The sound quality is great and what you would expect from a Bang & Olufsen
product.
It is a sexy design with a wrap around
speaker grille and comes in other colours too – yellow, blue and a light grey.
It also has a rechargeable battery so I can see it being great to take with you
to outdoor events and picnics.
The sound system can be setup wirelessly
on your home network. The setup involves simply connecting the Beolit using an
ethernet cable to your computer, then browsing to a page in your browser to
specify your home network password. After this I was able to use AirPlay and
iTunes on my computer, iPhone or other Apple device to play music wirelessly
through the system without having to worry about cords.
You may need someone tech-savvy to give
you a hand with the initial setup but once it has been done the sound system is
really simple to use, you won’t need to mess around with cords and the sound
quality is great.
Please
note: The Beolit 12 is designed for use with Apple devices. Out of curiosity we
tested it using non-Apple devices and the playing of the music was not as smooth.
